Specialist: Pulp and Paper
A specialist in pulp and paper is required to play a leading role in the Forestry & Forest Products Research Centre, establish relationships with clients and manage large-scale projects, and promote continuous learning and mentor junior researchers. The minimum requirement for this position is preferably a PhD in a field related to the pulp and paper industry. Post doctoral or Industrial experience is strongly preferred. Key research experience for the post should include:
- Wet end chemistry and paper making, or
- Chemical pulping, refining and bleaching.
The applicants should have strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition the applicants must be output driven and capable of developing and managing large scale projects. Good project management and project planning skills are essential.
The applicants must also be able to provide evidence of publications and presentations in national and international high impact journals/ conferences.
The incumbent should also:
- have a valid Driver's License,
- be computer literate
