Fibre Processing Research Co-operative
The Fibre Processing Research Co-operative is a joint venture between
Mondi, Sappi, Nampak and CSIR.
Through a process of consensus building between Mondi, Sappi, Nampak and CSIR the following specific objectives have been identified:
- To evaluate the impact of pulp and paper manufacturing processes on South African fibre characteristics and end product quality, value and cost reduction.
- To create a resource of expertise on the characteristics of South African fibres and how they can be best exploited in pulping and paper making applications.
- To develop standardized methods and techniques to evaluate the fibre resource, pulp and paper properties, and processing characteristics.
